Details of this year’s Form 42, on which employment related securities are reported, for the year ending 5th April 2005 have been published this week on the Revenue website.

The due date is 6th July, nil returns must also be sent if a Form 42 has been issued to the company. Substitute forms may still be submitted. Companies who wish to make a voluntary return i.e. they have not been issued with a Form 42 may of course do so but a nil return is not required unless the Form 42 has been issued by the Revenue shortly after 6th April 2005. Enquiries about the Form should be directed to [email protected].

Just an additional point on this. If you have issued employment related shares during the year and the IR have not sent you a Form 42, you are still required to submit one. It is another of those marvellous government ideas. They have told very few people about it yet you are laible to fines if you do not submit the forms.
