There's several groups on Facebook to 'protest' against the plan to start charging in July, a monthly fee of between £6.99 and £12.99 according to these groups...

Urban Hype, Myth or Truth? Are they dumping the free use...?

As mattsaw states, it's complete rubbish.

These kinds of groups are circulated every few months on Facebook, there are hundreds of them and have each year, the dreaded date that they will start charging from is July 1st/9th... If you believed these groups, we would all have been paying to use Facebook since July 2007!

If ANY group/page on Facebook tells you to invite all your friends and A, B or C will happen, it's not official and a complete load of rubbish.

If Facebook do start charging any users anytime soon, it will be for premium/business features, not for the standard everyday user. As Twitter will be with rolling out their premium accounts for businesses.

    Hi,
During this month there has been decline in FaceBook users. They have been deactivating their accounts, protesting against some immoral actions taken by the facebook community.

Really, you have data on it?

Even with Pakistan banning Facebook and a few guys deactivating their accounts, I'm pretty confident Facebook had a growth in number of users.

Facebook: a website where over 400million people reveal tons of personal information about themselves making it the #1 resource for targeted advertising.

Their core business is having profiles. They would not do ANYTHING that stood to restrict the number of users it had.

Facebook out has out done Google for users, but once you are at the top of your game you can only go one way. Down.
    BUT.....
If your so high up that there is no gravity you are not going to fall very far are you.

Facebook is no longer just a website. It is now joined the ranks of google, Youtube, wikipedia etc. they are websites that exist as brands.

So you're one of these idiots that joins these groups and gets all outraged with facebook :D ;)

Nope, just wondering before I start spending cash on social networking advertising if their membership is about to crash and / or they become a political internet "hot rock" in the next twelve months.

By the way, nice service you have on your site... :p
