Did you buy Any home appliances or household made in China before in UK?
And how you think about the quatity and price?

The comment or advice will be a great help for us.
Because beside as the Trading Agent
My company also is the exporter with electric appliances from China

We have found the quality to be average, but the main issue is with sea freight, the length of time and costs involved in lifting the goods from the dock to our premises.

We paid £600 for some goods to travel from Shenzhen to Harwich (sea freight) and then for road delivery we had been quoted £900!

Maybe you could check the freight with more forwarders

Where are you in the UK? Was £900 just the delivery or all the associated costs?

Quality will more than often relate directly to the price paid so 'cheap' is not always good.

General impression from my clients is that electronical goods from China can be very good but you must pay for that quality or they will be made to with poor parts/materials/designs.

Obviously branded goods should be avoided.

I've just been quoted for a shipment from shenzhen
What amused me was for a 12Kg package the sea freight charge is £28.50
And the charge to get the package from the dock to my address is £124.00
Obviously there are 7-8 other small charges along the way (all UK CODB charges incidently) but I just thought that comparison was quite funny. Something perhaps is going wrong somewhere.
