EMAIL MERGE SOFTWARE - What are you using?

For the smaller businesses, what email marketing software are you using?
I am using EMAIL OCTOPUS and I am starting to see the cracks, it's useless as whilst you can preview what MOBILE and DESKTOP will look like, they are only previews and you can't edit both separately, so you are often left having to make compromises. So your 40pt font on desktop will also be 40pt font on mobile, and it shows you what it will look like and it's pretty bad!
I chose OCTOPUS as they had a good growth offering for smaller businesses (up to 2,500 subscribers for free).. But as a designer I am pulling my hair out with it.

Can anyone suggest some alts, perhaps not MAIL CHIMPas I found there temnplates poor.

Honestly i see you pain with practically all the email marketing tools. Tried active campaign, tried mail chimp and many more and i couldnt get past the 90s layout and clunky nature of them. I dont do much with a list i know i should but i have heard good things about SendFox and its got a deal on appsumo at the moment too for lifetime membership https://appsumo.com/products/sendfox/

Deliverability i believe from what i have read is on par with other platforms that charge per contact
