Ebay DSR Ratings - Experienced sellers only please

I have a DSR rating of 4.4 for delivery. Was let down by a supplier on a few orders and got some poor star ratings for delivery. Fair enough.

It has to be at mimimum of 4.7 to acheive power seller status.

I have 88 feeback ratings. In order to get it to 4.7 i have worked out i need another 80 ratings all at 5 star!

(88 x 4.4) + (80 x 5) = 387.2 + 400 = 787.2 / (88+80) = 4.7

It has taken me 6 months to get 88 feedbacks, so I have another 6 months to go then!?

Get some hi volume products on there, stack em high, sell em low and boost up your stats.

I think the question that you have to ask yourself is are you trying to create a successful business or are you looking for a badge? Powerseller status is not really that big a deal to be honest. Some buyers actively avoid buying from powersellers and eBay doesn't really give you any major advantages when at bronze level. In fairness that does improve as you move to silver, gold etc but you have to achieve and maintain that. Personally I would advocate concentrating on running your business well and if you happen to get a pat on the back for doing that in the form of a little badge then say "thank you very much, I'd like to thank my family, my agent and all the people that have supported me over the years etc etc etc", put it on the mantlepiece and get back to running your business well for you and your customers, not eBay. I certainly wouldn't spend time crunching numbers on the subject

Of course the other advantage of rated seller status is listing show higher and reduced ebay fees!! Which is a big reason, as ebay fees are killing us.

I am a top rated seller and powerseller on ebay, and fwiw, don't worry about it. Do the right things and eventually you will get your rewards.

That will depend on you, as suggested you could offer a lot of low cost items, or better still a loss leader to build a client list, personally I would just carry on and it will soon fix itself, unless you get any further bad reports.

Low cost items can work, but also offering deals to your customers such as free shipping ect will work on the ratings as well.

I'm a Powerseller, have been for many years and currently a Top Rated Seller too. One thing I will say is that the only person who knows if you're a powerseller is you nowadays unless you have top Rated Seller status, because you can't have one without the other.

The only advantage to either is promotion to the top of searches and even then there's many other factors nowadays as well. The only time you need to really worry on eBay is if you get demoted in searches and on a 4.4 rating that will happen. doesn't mater how good your items are if they on page 971 or whatever of a search no one's going to find them.

There's no quick fix if your underlying business practices are off what eBay now expects. If it's down to a run of bad luck, work out what you need to do to fix it and not let it happen again. Selling quantities of small items at low prices may help, it can also make things worse, those who spend the least expect the most, hence I don't sell the bottom end of ranges on eBay anymore, too much trouble for little profit.
