I also agree with all of the above.

Allowing someone to pay for the service online is just another way in which a customer can choose to pay you for the service.

If you can capture the information you need about the purchaser to be able to deliver the service to them without any additional contact, that can make for a more streamlined process.

Magento features virtual products which are ideal for this (it wont charge shipping etc)
Magento is not alone here, you can also use our shopping basket solution to sell tangible goods, services and digital downloads from the same online store and only have shipping costs added for tangible deliverable goods but not for services or digital downloads, even if the order contains a mix of all three types of products.

I use a Joomla based website for selling my website services; it has a plugin billing system at the back end of it which lets you create Order Forms.

Once customers complete the Order Form it then creates an account for that customer and sends them an invoice. If that customer then wants another service they just login and purchase more.

You can create unlimited different Order Forms.

If you have any questions regarding it please lat me know and Ill send you a link.

Hope this helps
