Dried Fish Import

I am hoping to start the importation of Dried tropical fish and prawn from outside the EU into the UK, Nigeria in particular. I have already identified a partner abroad who will send products to me in the UK.

I want to know what are the relevant UK laws that regulates such import.

What are the standards that my foreign partner has to observe ? What do I need to do and how to clear such items from the point of entry in the UK.

I want to import dried tropical fish such as stockfish from Nigeria into UK. I have already established contact with a source in Nigeria who will be sending the stockfish.
My need is how to clear the fish from the port here in the UK or more importantly the process of clearing the dried fish from the UK port.

I think if you want to import commercial quantities of fish into the UK the Nigerian stockfish producer should be EU approved.
