My website uses a single cookie. It does no tracking or anything else like that. It is only used to track whether a user is logged in (if the cookie exists they are logged in, if it doesn't they are not logged in). If I show a cookie popup and ask whether the user would like to disable all cookies that would mean that it would screw up my login system if they disabled cookies. Since my single cookie just stores their username on my website and is just checked for login purposes do I still need to show a cookie popup?

As well as the ICO website, have you researched "session cookies and consent?" CookieYes covers it fairly well https://www.cookieyes.com/blog/session-cookies/ . Not that you require one, they also provide a free service option that can be used.

As consent is not required, you could add a footer link to the Cookies Policy page and mention it here. If you need inspiration for how to describe it and its purpose, you could either add a link to the CookieYes website (Session cookies page), or read how they describe it to help you put some words together for your Cookie Policy page.

It get's more ridiculous every day with the number of options you have to scroll through and untick on some websites, especially those that don't have a "reject all" option. Unless I really, really want to access a website, I will simply click away if I can't reject cookies with less than 3 mouse clicks (i.e. "reject all", "save").
