I have been asked to write an article for someone to present in the new year on the benefits of Content Management Websites for small business.

Does anyone feel it would be of benefit to them if i post it in the forum over the next week or so?

it basically covers the basics like "what is Content Management" to the whys and hows.

If you give me a bit of feedback through postings and the poll and then we can see if it will benefit anyone.

Thanks

Need an OTHER option on your poll. I would be interested to read what you come up with and suspect that it will be of benefit to many.

I must admit I have wondered what the cut-over point is for small websites in terms of content management (that is when basic processes/workflow can not longer do the job efficiently). Not generally a problem with stock based store solutions but an issue with some of the more content rich site.

I am about to go though another selection exercise for a huge CMS. Make a change from ERPs. It is for a global pharmaceutical company so you can imagine I am sure that the audit tracking and security elements are as important (if not more so) than the normal publish authorisation stages.

Thanks to all members who voted and gave feedback.

The deadline for me to finish the article is the 10th Jan so i will be posting any time around then.

It is good to see from the vote results that people are using Content Management already!

dont be expecting any "great work of modern literature" but i do think it will help people in deciding how to move forward with their Websites and Internet Business.

Also a Happy New Year to all Members.

We provide content management to a lot of our clients now using a programme called macromedia contribute. It costs £99 and is easy to integrate into websites. It functions much like a simplified version of word and most people can use it effectively with little or no training. This means that content management is now an affordable option for small businesses and certainly one that we would recommend.
