Choose Your Portal

Hello UKBF Folks,
I've been looking at various portal applications that can be bolted onto vBulletin and have narrowed the search down to two choices. So now I would like your feedback on which you prefer.
Unfortunately, to get a true feel for the functionality and modules for each choice you have to register on the sites, but here you go.

Option A - phpPortal
This portal seems to keep the options nice and clean without cluttering the screen, this is my favourite. It also has some nice modules such as a Review section where you can submit a website for reviewing. It also has things such as website directory.

Option B - vBadvanced
This is the one most other forum owners seem to recommend. It is more vBulletin orientated, but doesn't seem to come with very many extra bolt ons - although there are a lot of third party modules you can plug into it.

So, what do you all think?

Sorry for being a technological thicko, but what exactly do these products provide? Is it an environment of sorts to wrap around the forums?

I have used VBAdvanced on my forum and it was really good.

its easy to install and gives loads of features to the front page.

The problem with not doing anything is that these fourms will not progress from anything more, and it limits the revenue generating options available.

I'm not keen on vBadvanced because it seems to only be the forums but laid out differently, not much scope for external news feeds and content providers. Unless I'm missing something?
