Its about time i got my retail store on facebook.

Which is best way to go about this?? does it have to be set up from my own personal account? and create a fan page?

I remember a while back a member here had a starter guide to facebook for business, but cannot seem to find it anywhere.

Any hints and tips / links for business usage on facebook.

Also, will be looking into twitter next....so any info on this to would be great.

Thanks all

When you log into facebook scroll down to the bottom of the page. In the bottom right hand corner there is some links and the 3rd one in from the left says create a page. Click on that and it takes you to the create a page section, the very first one is for businesses so click on that and away you go from there.

Thanks for the input guys.

From what i can gather a standard 'create page' is the best thing for me. I dont want to setup payment options etc, just to keep customers updated on what offers and new products are available and i can always put links in to my website anyway.

ANy other suggestions?? or should i just Create a page and go from there.

Thanks

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback.....as already said above, 'create page' option is best way to go for starters.

One more question though....does this 'page' i create through my own facebook profile, have any link to my personal account? I dont want business / customers to see anything to do with my own personal account.

Thanks

It is linked to your personal account but only from an admin point of view. Customers won't know unless you select to show who the admins are.

Just be careful picking your page name as after a certain amount of people join you can't change it later. Try and pick a search friendly name. The best thing to do really is give it a go and have a play around. If you haven't started getting fans you can always delete and start over. Just go to www.facebook.com/pages/ and create page in the top right to get started.
