Barter websites?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any good barter or swap websites or groups / forums etc?

Do they exist or are they just a figment of my imagination? I'm trying to build my website portfolio, and knowing that times are hard, I was going to see if I could barter my services for things I'd have use for.

Do such places exist?

Not sure about national/online, but you could try your local 'LETS' group (Local Exchange Trading System.)
However, often you can expect to find them full of wannabe hippies that are trying to get you to pay cash for holistic therapies.

I did have some people interested in websites when I was there - but there wasn't a massive lot I was interested in to spend my credits on... plan was just to use it for some general 'manual labour' when I moved house... didn't plan on moving over 200 miles away, so my credits are going to be passed to a friend.

Considered walking around local business that don't have a good web presence and offering your services. A friend was going to make a basic website for someone they were chatting to on a forum that was setting up a new cake business... in exchange for 'goods', because the idea amused them, if nothing else!

Hello all,

I've just re-joined here (was about many years ago and excited to rediscover!) and noticed this post on a subject I'm interested in myself! There's a UK website launching this summer called Brassique that sounds like what you were /are looking for? You can barter/trade, goods, skills and such like on there. I joined up so I can use it for buying / selling secondhand things alongside using my art skills to treat myself to some nice bits! There's nothing else quite like it as far as I can tell, and it seems perfect for my needs!

Anyway, they explain things much better than I can! I found them via twitter so I know they're on there if you use it. They seem really nice too so you could always ask for details. There's some information on their website too. Hope this is of some help...maybe I'll see you on there! : )

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but isn't Facebook full of these? At least in my area it is.

Hi I use a barter company called Bartercard - it is a worldwide barter company. I have used it for my marketing (purchase leaflets and an exhibition stand) and also some of my courier expenses.
