The people who post multiple posts to get up to a 30 post count are annoying, this doesn't happen as much now.

Genuine posters without 30 posts can post links if they add value to the thread (these are moderated closely)

    Spammers are noticed far quicker

Far few spammers get through the spam filters

It's been like it since the new forum went live and only just mentioned, which goes to show how well it is working

Everyone should report posts they think are abusing the system

Would be interesting to understand the rationale behind this change.
Been on holiday this week so feel bad from not responding myself on this but @UKSBD has answered already as it was discussed between us all as mods.
Basically during testing the new site before launch it didn't have the ability to implement the 30 post limit so we had a chat, and come to the conclusion as TJ says. The new platform does have much stronger checks in place that block new registrations that trigger spam behaviour, and new registrations are also cross referenced against other forum owners to catch known spammer too.

We do have a probation period for use of the social feed though as that section is allowed for self promotion, but only for members who stick around and not people to jump in spam and go.
