Hi guys,

I've been running my online interiors website for the last 3.5 years and things have been going well with traffic and sales growing year on year. I can feel it hitting a slight lul or flat spot so Just wondering if any of you marketing experts had any tips for giving it a big push for 2016?

Thanks!

Hi Dan,

Right now, there's options for you to start creating video content. We work in this space, so we are biased, but on our site we have suggestions for this sort of thing. Even on a low budget you can create content that will engage people in a far better way than other content. The key is for you to build trust with your potential customers.

For example, as a small business, we'd recommend some videos like:

- Showing how you source and decide on what interiors to promote to you customers
- A video, with you speaking directly to your customer about what you have coming up in the future ( what offers, products etc)
- Why you are good at what you do, and why people should be going to you for your services.

If you have a website whereby people purchase through the site, consider doing a screen capture piece, with a short sting of your logo top and tail. Here you would look to create a 90 sec film taking people through how to use navigate through your website. Seems stupid, but these are proven to be very effective in giving people the confidence to go ahead and purchase.

Agree with Dan, video content is big for 2016, but it has to be relevant to what you do, not video for video's sake.

Also, if you're not already, consider some outreach to other websites, i.e. offering expert guidance to target online magazines, push out press releases on interesting projects you've done, etc. it might also be worth scoping out the bloggers in your space, to see if you can offer them some interesting content.

Hi Dan - is there a reason you're only asking about online marketing? It's easy to become fixated with online stuff, with the latest shiny new thing, when in fact some of the best opportunities are to be found offline.
