Hello,

I have checked but could't find anything about Amazon Webstore.

Does anybody have any experience with Amazon Webstore?

As far as I have researched looks good for SEO, payment security and processing. I'm sure it is limited just like other hosted commerce systems just like big commerce&shopify but it will fulfil my needs.

Yikes looks a bit pricey for an automated ecommerce solution.

What are you looking to sell? Do you have the design & digital marketing experience to get your shop from the default to something interesting for customers?

These types of services can be good if you are happy to spend time getting up to speed but you may want to also consider posting in tenders for what else you could get for £46 per month (plus transactional fees)

Hello,

I am already selling on Amazon and I like the way Amazon works. It is clean and smooth with no problems.

I will be selling towel radiators and accessories. It will build from scratch ( not moving from already establish website as commerce ).

I had few problems with hosting companies like slow speed, SSL certificate is another problem as well as gateway and merchant accounts.

I can trust fully Amazon payment system, we haven't had any problem what so ever.

What else out there as an alternative you can recommend other than big commerce, shopify?

Ah sorry see what you mean, got confused between Amazon & Amazon webstore in your reply.

Well nothing is going to match the ease of amazon proper, because they charge for use of all their payment & security etc. But I would not say if you setup your own site slow speeds or SSL certificates shouldn’t be a problem if you have a good provider. Gateway and merchant accounts are just a pain from the banks, not the fault of the web site service you use, if you want ease you can go with paypal if you want volume and professionalism you can pay the fees for a separate merchant account and the integration that goes with it.

Hard for me to recommend an alternative to big commerce or shopify because they are competitors of my own business. But what I meant is that there are lots of companies like mine around that have the pricing model of big com or shopify (ie monthly rather than upfront) but where you are dealing 1to1 with a developer who can help you with the technical & design side instead of you having to rely on template builders.

I think you need to ask, do I want to do it all my self (ie amazon/bigcom/shopify) or do I want help with setting up a site? It entirely depends on your time and experience with ecommerce. Unlike with amazon who have a built in footfall if you move to your own site, even using their system, you will have to consider a range of details to get it selling successfully.

The impression I get from the Amazon Webstores I've seen is that it is an Amazon-hosted website with the back-end being run by the existing Amazon Seller system. If you're already a Seller, all your listed products will appear in your Amazon Webstore. All your order management is a front-end to the Amazon system. You do have control over what the website looks like. They provide templates, but if you don't like those, you're down to the HTML and CSS.

but with limited html and design capabilities we found it difficult / impossible to make the site look good so didn't run with it in the end.
Better off finding a company who could design and build it I think.
