I am looking into purchasing some affiliate marketing software, has anyone had any experience with these?

Generally links so that other people can sell our services and take commission

would it not be easier to go through a third party like buy.at I have used these guys for a few sites (adding links to some sites) and they do really well.

Yep there's quite alot. You can choose to purhcase an affiliate software where you have full control over sales, clicksbasically what's happening. You make the payments. Make sure it intergrates with the site you have or you may have to get a developer to do that. A third party will do all of that for you.
