Acinic Shared SSL

Hi,

I use the Actinic Shared SSL Service (anyone else here using it?). Anyway, it is being 'pulled' shortly and I wanted to know what would be the line of least resistance in terms of simply moving to another SSL provider ? Is it just a case of finding another SSL Service provider and then reconfigure Actinic to use that ?

Any specific suggestions ?

thanks,

Are you using the SSL for collecting card data for processing via a terminal? If so, you will need to speak to your merchant bank about PCI accreditation. Alternatively, switch to using a Payment Gateway for processing payments and save yourself the hassle/cost of becoming accredited. You will still be able to use Actinic and will just need the chosen Payment Gateway's module for the cart.

Our solution - EcomMerchant - works in conjunction with Actinic so if you would like to discuss this further please send me a PM.

Kind regards,

Simon

SSL will be less to do with Actinic and more to do with your web host. You are in no way tied in to any SSL provider unless your host forces you to buy from them, in which case you have no choice (except to leave your host).

All SSL requires, as someone has said, a dedicated IP address for which you'll probably pay £20-30 a year.

Your choice of certificate after that is entirely up to you, I'm happy to advise or assist in the choice. Having looked at your site I can't tell without going through the checkout process whether you outsource your payment processing to someone else or whether you take payment directly on your own site.
