Accounts for only £1900/year turnover

Hi;

I created a LTD last year for some web development tasks I do in my free time. The turnover is just £1900/year and I´m paying £65+VAT each month to a company for the accounts. As you can see it´s not a big deal for only 12 transactions in a year.

I´m looking for someone to give me a price to review my invoices each year so i can submit them to HMRC myself. This year is going to be more os less the same...

For a Ltd Co, it's more complicated than submitting invoices to HMRC, which is why you need an accountant.

But you should be able to buy the service you require for half what you are paying ATM. The key is to do the bookkeeping yourself, making sure it is perfectly reconciled to the bank account, thus leaving the accountant to do only the stuff that they know how to do.

That would seem to be the sensible and most cost effective solution as even if you need an accountant to finalize your self assessment tax return it will be much cheaper

I considered to be a sole trader but I´m from Spain and after 3 years in the UK I moved back to Spain for 2 years. I think I need to be living in the UK to be a sole trader.

I actually do the bookkeeping myself. They have an accounting program and I insert each invoice myself. I also need to take care that bank accounts are ok. They just send an empty report at the end of the month wich things I updated, if any.

They also don´t provide too much assistance as I need to ask HMRC or the equivalent in other countries (1/2 of invoices (that is, 3) are from clients in spain) to know how to do things correctly.

Do you know the name of one of those accounts that may do it for 1/2 of the price I pay?
