A thread for updates and additions to running sites

Hi there you lovely admin types,

I've been looking for somewhere on here to post notice of the fact that we have a new and updated photographic folio on-line (just in case anyone needs an experienced corporate photographer), but I can't actually find a thread that I can put it in, without it seeming like the dreaded "s" word.

So, is it possible, pretty please, to have somewhere where we can post notice of improvements and up-dates to our sites without clogging up the other really useful threads.

It would be of much use to many people here I think, in my humble opinion anyway.

http://www.eptv.co.uk/photo.htm which is where the new folio can be found...

To be honest Desmond, as you are a regular contributor to these forums posting such a message onto say the general business section would not be considered spam.

In a general statement Spam is defined as someone who joins this forum, makes absolutely no contribution to the forum, and just posts 1 or 2 messages (or even worse a message in every category) saying something along the lines of "look at me I'm wonderful" or "use my service and get rich quick".

The important thing to bear in is these forums are all about networking, and would you walk into a networking event and shout out "look at my wonderful service its great", throw a load of your business cards at everyones faces and then walk out of the room again? If you did everyone there would think your just a complete pillock and would never use your service - and that is all these people who post spam on forums are thought as - just sad pitiful pillocks.

I fully agree Ozzy, which is why I would rather have a section whereby members can post notice of changes or updates. I used the words "without it seeming like", because I know it wouldn't be "s" but, as there are some really useful and interesting discussions in the threads I feel that sticking a blatant advert for our new folio would be almost rude.

However, I will take your advice on this and post a notice in the General Business thread, after the bank holiday.

    Thanks for the reply

I thaught that networking was just like that never been to one. Im always looking to join in with some chat. I like to share knowlege but this week been unable to find a post I can add too.

Maybe we should have a graphic design forum too so people wanting to do their own design can lean about it here.
