Where can I find a copy of my last year corporation tax return? For previous years it is on Companies House, but not for last year.

    Many thanks

I have never known Companies House to have copies of the CT600, annual accounts yes but tax returns are submitted to HMRC
I submitted the joint return. HMRC received it, but there is noting on my HMRC pages that show previous years' return or profit/loss.

I use commercial software so not a 100% sure, but I do not think that the HMRC site would show the completed CT600 that you submitted only the amounts owed.

Your most recent corporation tax return won’t appear on Companies House. You can usually find a copy in your HMRC online services account, or your accountant should be able to provide it. If it was filed recently, it may not yet be visible anywhere publicly.”

The post you refer to is actually the correct answer. If you used the government filing software all the documents should be on your government gateway. If it isn't there then you need to contact HMRC. Do you have proof of submission?

How to Access Your Corporation Tax History
    1. Sign in to HMRC online services using your Government Gateway user ID and password.
    2. Navigate to your business tax account. (Note: This is separate from a personal tax account you might use for Self Assessment or PAYE).
    3. Ensure the Corporation Tax service is enrolled in your account. If it is not, you can add it by selecting 'Services you can add' in the menu and enrolling for the service.
    4. Once in the Corporation Tax section, you should be able to view details of your past returns, including the CT600 forms you have filed.

    Important Considerations

    • Online Access Limit: HMRC typically provides online access to returns filed within the last 6 years.

All of that works fine. Under Corporation Tax there is a section 'Your returns'. In that section there is a button to complete a return and a button for more details.

That takes me to a section to complete a return and an option to select More Corporation Tax Details.

That goes to the older interface where I can choose options and get to select previous years which just show the amount of tax due.

Perhaps, completing the joint return via Companies House means HMRC don't show a copy.

Never mind - I can reconstruct it, I still have the working papers, but I just thought it should have been there.
