VAT question - commission

Quick question, if I charge a business £5 for a ‘job’, but only £2 of that is coming to me with the other £3 going to a worker, what would I pay VAT on? The £5 or the £2?

You would need to make it clear that you are acting as an agent and that you are merely providing the service of finding someone to do the job.
Could I not make it clear the price is in 2 parts?

Basically it’s a piece of software, the £2 is to access the system and the rest is the workers money. I thought about having the business pay the worker themselves but I’m trying to limit ways people and the businesses can abuse the system.

Why do you feel that would make any difference?

When you say £3 is the 'workers money' what exactly do you mean?

What exactly are the arrangements between you and these people?
