Hi all,
I am fairly new in the mobile car valeting business, currently providing a basic in & out car cleaning service priced close to supermarket car washed plus a ~delivery fee~
I would like to know please what do you guys do or recommend for rainy days as they are accounting for close to one third of the days of the year.
Would it be better a pop up tent, van with awning fitted or just reschedule the bookings for that days?
And very important: how do customer usually react if you tell them you'll have to reschedule due to bad weather.

Thank you

I wouldn't be very happy if you cancelled due to rain. At the end of the day it is the customers decision to cancel if they do not want their car valeted in the rain, not yours. I think a gazebo is a good idea so I would run with that. Alex

Perhaps it depends on where you live. Round here the rain is dirty and there is absolutely no point in having your car washed when it will be filthy again before the car has even moved.

The car washers in our local supermarkets have hardly any trade at all when it's raining

As a customer it’s your prerogative to cancel. As a supplier/provider it’s bad business

It also raises the question of what the OP means by valeting. To me, valeting is far more than just a wash, it’s a deep clean so it wouldn’t really worry me if I got dirt on the car soon after

There used to be a valeting service in one town centre inside a shopping centre car park. Just inside the entrance.

Several times have seen car valeting services where they work all weathers. People washing the outside of the car while wearing waterproofs in the rain, guy inside wiping down and vacuuming without rain gear on.

Yes, pointless having the car washed as it always gets dirty again.
For those who like an occasional view out of the windows and seeing what colour the car is, there is always garage car washes and various car wash / valet services in many towns.
