Dropshipping - where are the UK suppliers

Hi all

I am currently attempting to start a dropshipping business. I have watched the Shopify videos and read the Oberlo blogs, designed a store and have some inventory loaded and ready to go. But i don't intend to publish the store.

The problem being a lack of UK suppliers, it is extremely USA/Asia orientated and the delivery times are shocking, it's 2019 and i'm not prepared to have potential clients wait 2-4 weeks for delivery.

I wonder if the sensible thing to do would be go it alone? Design a stand alone eCommerce store on a different platform and then locate and contact potential dropshipping partners myself? I have scoured all of the Shopifly options and found products to be limited or just take too long, I have contemplated a UK based option like EKM but they have pretty much failed at the first hurdle.

If anyone has any advice or experience then i would love to hear from you.

Sorry just stumbled across this, what is it you are wanting to sell, dropship? Dont you need your own online store to advertise these products then contact your dropshipper after a sale? not really keyed up on this type of business.

Some do it that way, some of the bigger ones organise the stock first then set up to dropship once they know what they want to sell and the price.

Dropshipping seems hot these years. In my opinion, if you want to ship goods to customer faster, one way is to find native suppliers like some distributor, they will help you start business. U can contact factory partner from Asia or USA after the business grow, and there are some factory, whom ship goods by DHL agency, it only takes about 3-5 days to UK, of course, this way only works for high-profit goods. It is hard to keep a balance between shipping speed and abundant goods. So if ur unit price sells less than $50. and you just startted, take more time find a good niche is the most important thing.

UK suppliers can get stuff to customers next working day sometimes. Speed counts these days, people don't always want to wait 2 or 3 weeks for an item from Asia to arrive. Plus there are returns to factor in - returning an item for full refund including postage because its not quite what the customer wants is expensive.
