Hi, my shop got flooded due to burst water pipe. i have business insurance for contents and loss of earnings. the loss adjuster came to assess the damage but my claim doesnt look too promising.

he has asked for a copy of the lease: the lease is in the name of my old company which was a partership and not under the business name that i am claiming under.

the original company was a partnership and now we have split into 2 separate companies (i have 1 company and my ex business partner has his) we are both operating from the same premises. he is upstairs and i am downstairs. his business is not insured (insurance company refused to insure because apparantly its high risk).

the shop has to close for 2 months for the Landlords insurer to carry out work on the premises.

i am only claming for my business which has been affected.

what is the likelyhood of my claim being accepted?

Your business does not have a vlaid lease? Usually insurance only covers claims related to your premises. How are these your premises? How does the insurance policy define the premises covered?
