My experience is that a mobile presence is great but, as far as ecommerce goes, don't expect a lot of sales through your mobile site just yet.
At the moment, mobile purchases of physical products tend to go to the incumbent (Amazon, eBay etc) and us SMEs are struggling to eat at their market...
Hi Chris,
I agree with one aspect of a fellow poster in that you could view it like shopping for a website. There's cheap and cheerful and then there's high-end.
However, Apple don't allow apps into iTunes that look really cheap (or at least they don't now, their review process is quite...
Hello UKBF members of South Wales!
Just a quick heads up on a kind of networking event I attended for the first time this week.
Cardiff Internet Marketing (Google it, can't post links as a new member!) is on the second Monday of every month down in Future Inns in Cardiff Bay.
It's £5 on...
I agree with Ali-v-8, try both and test the water.
Also, it depends on what you're trying to do; promote brand awareness (for which FB is great) or drive sales (for which FB is, generally, awful).
A couple of things I would say about FB ads (I've currently got three campaigns running with...
Hi Adam,
Unfortunately, the payment processing industry is, in my opinion, a corrupt monopoly at best.
You're stuck with a merchant services account (at a high fee) or with what you're doing with a service like PayPal.
That's for now, anyway.
Startups like Square and iZettle will...
Hi there,
Most of the most productive 'networking' meetings in Cardiff aren't networking at all, per se.
There's a monthly "Jelly" event held at Indycube's co-working place in town.
You can Google it for more info.
Well..... I've raised the claim in the Small Claims Court before and the buyer backed down and paid me compensation. But I've never had one go to an actual court hearing.
I believe it all rests on what the buyer has publicly posted about you and whether this is classed as defamation.
The other posters are correct; you have been more than generous so far.
The law makes no provision for a partial refund should the buyer wish to retain some of the items sold to them.
If the buyer leaves negative feedback, eBay are generally quite good at removing this once you have filed...
1. Networking
2. Warm calling
3. Warm emails
4. Display ads
For the record, we've had limited success with PPC but this could be due to a lack of experience / willingness to engage and put the work in on long tail campaigns.
You'll be pleased to hear this thread had made me re-think our...
Afternoon Mr.P,
A interesting proposition with some interesting comments. In my previous life, I had a trade business that did really well entirely based on online marketing.
Hope you don't mind some pointers (and these are only from my experience)...
- Avoid SEO services for a company...
I'ma big fan of free networking and even more so if it's fun. I can't link as I'm new but Ignite Cardiff (google it) is free and a lot of fun. If you get in quick, you can also speak.
Note it's not a networking event as such, but the best networking never is!
Hi there,
Just registered for UK Business Forums and hoping for an active Welsh presence!
I's Stephen and I'm the founder / chief bottle washer of Tradebox Media. We're a publishing firm in Cardiff and we develop and publish a range of apps for iOS and Android as well as publishing The...
