Duane - gone but not forgotten, including the post that you put in for the Golden Rules. I'm just going to take a look at the execution, come back and do it better.

I'm killing off 'The Undercover Exec'

A few learnings from me... Start right - I was going to go for Blogger but was guided towards Wordpress a good move. What I didn't clock was that I couldn't change the user name and the URL.... I learned a lot in a short time. So much that I'd rather shape it slightly differenty going forward...

I'm killing off 'The Undercover Exec'

In the end he felt all wrong. Many thanks for the which blog advice - I've even followed the advice that said 'get reading' - scary what I don't know...and may never grasp. (HTML mostly). Many thanks for the commentary in the forum. I think I'm going to work on the content and approach. For...

    Business premises

I'm in line with the more cautious comments here. I've recently been banging on about the importance of cash flow. Have you got any cash coming in on the business side, not through the job, to cover overheads like rent? I'd avoid premises - work around alternatives for example for the social...

    Cash is king!

I agree but I think the difference is the format. In the forum the discussion is high pace with quite a staccoto rhythm adn it can go anywhere. The blog gives a chance to explore more widely. btw what's the blog idea - looking at your links cash flow is close to your heart?

    Cash is king!

Absolutely but having said that the idea of the blog is to generate discussion and ideas in search of a few central and simple business rules. I think that could work pretty well with UKBF which is essentially an entreprenurial community where their is plenty of experience and there are plenty...

    Cash is king!

Love the cynicism and if you have your head screwed on, brilliant. Having spent time in business turnaround I find it staggering how many businesses just get cash management wrong. Often it is because decisions are made in other areas of the business that appear to make sense but the cash flow...

    Competition could wipe me out

What's the market size? I bet there is enough room for both of you, it is not as if for example there's only one type of mobile phone. Duane Jackson of Kashflow demonstrates daily one tactic of how to live with a gorilla in your market. Then you've got to ask yourself what's you edge, how will...

What does a suit say about a person?

My younger bro always oberves you can never be too smart. It's easy to dress down from a suit but hard to smarten yourself up in short order... I go for the 'alcoholic' style mostly, suit no tie. When I do sharpen up and put the tie on my people usually think that there is something up...

    Cash is king!

Ok how many people honestly know what their cash balance for this time next month? How many people know what a 20% downturn in payment or trade will do for the business? If you knew the answer, and it was great what would you be doing now? If you new the answer and it was challenging what...

The Golden Rule of business success

I take your point entirely Tom, every business person and business defines thier own success criteria. I wonder if there are any areas where regardless of the aim the rules would be the same? One to mull over. Thanks for the response.

The Golden Rule of business success

You're right it's not easy to transfer offline credibility online. I'm stating from zero, I recognise that. They are completely different domains and over time I may create some traction...or not. So, feel free to ignore me, or bear with me for a time. It sounds like you've got strong...
