    Registering as a Limited Company

In my experience it is more about how you work with your clients in practice and how you run your business that counts rather than how many clients you have over a period of time or at any given time. I only mentioned IR35 as Will is going to be a small IT service company and a prime target...

    Registering as a Limited Company

This is an approach that can be taken and you can save a lot in taxes. This is the approach that a large number of IT contractors took and have since been caught out by IR35...Some have been ordered to pay back large sums of money (10s of 1000s) or be charaged with tax avoidance. That said...

Will, I belive NI numbers are issued automatically before you reach 16. In terms of an PAYE system, if you have an accountant they will be able to sort this out for you. Regards Bill

Hi Angel, I'd like to say it get easier with time but I think you just get better at handling it. I find working from prioritised lists works best for me. If your list is getting too long, then break it down into other lists. It's always important to take a break when you are feeling...

Will a 2nd hard disk speed up my database?

TopHat, When was the last time the Access DB was compacted? You may find that after compacting and reparing you DB size is dramatically reduced and the performance improves...however, if it's critical to you business I'd suggest upgrading to a better database technology. Regards Bill

Will a 2nd hard disk speed up my database?

What database are you using? It might be that the database itself can't handle the number of people connecting to it.

Out of interest (and sorry if it's off topic), how much does ad space sell for? I guess it depends on the site and the traffic but I'm interested in a rough idea. Regards Bill

    The First Step!

As Ozzy said, there is no "right time" to make the leap. Having the savings and starting capital is important but sometimes oppertunities can pass you by while you are trying to save up to get going. For £5K I'd probably approach the bank for a loan, present them with a business plan and...
