There is no register of sole traders. HMRC won't confirm if they're registered as self employed, as that would be a breach of data protection. Have you asked for their company registration number?
If you didn't fulfil the orders those customers would have to be refunded (or become unsecured creditors if the company has insufficient funds to issue refunds) which would undoubted leave the company in a worse financial position. Paying for postage to enable the company to fulfil those orders...
This is what I'm seeing this morning. The banners down the side appear and disappear as I scroll the page. Some pages have a banner across the top, covering the navigation, or across the bottom.
How many people actually keep paper invoices rather than downloading/saving a PDF version? I certainly wouldn't keep paper copies when I already have the PDF in most instances.
I get exactly the same in Firefox on my desktop and Chrome on my Android phone/tablet with no browser extensions installed. I also get the banner ads across the top/bottom and down the side of the page.
Why complicate things? It would be far simpler to have one trading name encompassing everything you do. You should be able to find an insurance policy that covers all the work you do as a sole trader, there shouldn't be any need for separate policies.
