    UK Facebook down..........

Facebook have gone offline numerous times before and generally recovered within a couple of hours or so, generally because they allow their developers to make make changes to live systems without proper testing. It's working right now for me.

    chiropractor fees

Answer yes if you still have an outstanding balance on your student loan. The amount due should be calculated automatically when you submit your self assessment.

    Internet Outage

It took this forum offline earlier. I got a CloudFlare Internal Server Error when trying to access the forum this morning.

SIM providers are no longer letting us buy bulk sim cards?

It might be to do with preventing scammers/spammers buying up multiple SIM cards. Ofcom are proposing new rules to tackle the issue, rather than each network/provider setting their own rules as happens currently...

Court case: can we demand a copy of defendant's passport?

During my last two visits to the United States (2022 & 2023) my passport wasn't stamped on arrival or exit, presumably the photo and biometric data they took on arrival replaced the need for passport stamps. It wasn't stamped in the Republic of Ireland either, being part of the common travel...

Is There a Way to find out if a business/individual is registered as a sole trader?

There is no register of sole traders. HMRC won't confirm if they're registered as self employed, as that would be a breach of data protection. Have you asked for their company registration number?

    Fulfilling Existing Orders

If you didn't fulfil the orders those customers would have to be refunded (or become unsecured creditors if the company has insufficient funds to issue refunds) which would undoubted leave the company in a worse financial position. Paying for postage to enable the company to fulfil those orders...

    Annoying Pop-Up Ads

This is what I'm seeing this morning. The banners down the side appear and disappear as I scroll the page. Some pages have a banner across the top, covering the navigation, or across the bottom.

    Simple cheap Advertising

How many people actually keep paper invoices rather than downloading/saving a PDF version? I certainly wouldn't keep paper copies when I already have the PDF in most instances.

    Annoying Pop-Up Ads

I get exactly the same in Firefox on my desktop and Chrome on my Android phone/tablet with no browser extensions installed. I also get the banner ads across the top/bottom and down the side of the page.

    One business or two?

Why complicate things? It would be far simpler to have one trading name encompassing everything you do. You should be able to find an insurance policy that covers all the work you do as a sole trader, there shouldn't be any need for separate policies.

    Switching my mobile

Buying a phone outright and going SIM only often works out cheaper, but check the deals you're being offered. EE in particular seem to offer fewer benefits (e.g. no inclusive roaming) and have speed caps on some of their SIM only plans. 30 day SIM only plans are often a lot more expensive than...

    Sole trader & Trading Name(s)

You can trade under as many names as you like, but as a sole trader it is you that is registered for VAT rather than your trading name.
