Just received a notification from Rakuten that they are closing its UK marketplace.
Dear Merchant
We regret to inform you that following a strategic review of its operations in
Europe, Rakuten has decided to consider plans to close Rakuten.co.uk to shoppers
from the end of August.
This is...
Many thanks for all your advice everyone. We ended up just sending her some replacement without even getting any evidence that the received ones were indeed broken. I kindly let her know that the main reason we asked for a photo is to file a claim from Royal Mail for the damaged parcel, but...
Just finished a difficult conversation with a lady who bought some rubber erasers and found a few broken in transit. We have agreed to send her some replacement, but only asked for a photo showing the damaged items received, just so we will be able to improve our package and file a claim against...
I understood from the seller forum on Amazon that the average rate of getting feedback from customers is about 5 - 10%, but we only got around 3% of customers leaving any feedback on their purchase from us. This rate is however much higher on eBay, with nearly 99% of our customers having left...

Our talk over the phone ended up with unpleasant...
Having just closed my account on Rakuten. Having launched the shop for a month, it only generated two orders. The traffic on their uk site is very minimal. Not worthwhile keeping the shop with them.
I've learnt my lesson, and will never ever use any unmanaged hosting service in my life.
A big THANK YOU to all guys here who offered me advice and help, especially to Mark @ VTSHosting, who worked on Sunday to get my new hosting account set up.
A lot of recovery work to do in the week ahead...
In light of what happened in the past weekend with 123-reg VPS server, multi-channel selling is absolutely essential for any e-commerce business in my opinion.
Their facebook page is flooded with complaints. Some customers even paid for the backup service at an extra monthly fee, and only found the backup files were also deleted on their VPS. So 123-reg has indeed deleted all data on the server, putting the blame on a little poor script.
Finally, the latest update from one of the company directors.
Dear Customer.
I am writing to you to explain what happened to some VPS services on 16.04.16. This email is to detail what our steps have been. I am committed to open communication with all customers and would like to take this...
