Another vote for Office 365 from me - Business Essentials if you already have Microsoft Office, or Business Premium if you don't. Happy to discuss your options if you would like - just get in touch.
If you happen to already use Office 365, look at their Cloud PBX option - I've been using it for a single number for a few months now - they can also do toll-free numbers, auto attendant, call queues, etc. all integrated with the Skype for Business client, and works with a range of hardware as well.
As others have said - taking the payment is fine, as long as it is handled in a PCI compliant way - for example the handler should not 'read back' the card number as you are providing it (because someone else could be listening, etc.)

Assuming you need 1and1 for web hosting, you could keep them just for that, and point your nameservers at 365 - so basically all the DNS management is done through 365.
That said, I have customers using 365 fine with DNS still on 1and1 - it isn't impossible, just awkward because you have to...
