One thing to be said about having VOIP as main business line, is there is no back up when internet goes down. I know of a lot of businesses that have a voip line attached to their broadband but still have a standard phone line just in case. Also do check that there isnt a usage cap on the virgin...
If you are just starting your business, I would suggest looking at short term contracts thru a broker not long term. I always suggest this to my potential customers if their energy usage is high in the first instance like hotels and restaurants where freezers cooling units etc and coffee...
if you have a good techie friend I think you should investigate a trick I have heard of. Don't shoot the messenger please..!!! I think it goes something like this have 2 broadband services coming into your base you can link them together by a "thingymegig" - hence the need for techie advice...
Sounds a real mess. I would suggest reviewing your phone contracts and transferring them to another source. There are many out there which provide good service, excellent bolt on broadband and definitely at lower per minute prices than that. ;)
CJD if they have a contract with the original...
My advice would be make sure that you find out whether the energy is in a business contract and if so with whom and for how long. There are some amazing deals out there, one supplier Extra Energy is offering extremely competitive prices but they will only be for a year, after which their price...
I suggest to my business customers that they have VOIP if more than one line required, and that they have one landline number with their broadband provider so that if the VOIP goes down they still have a number that is active. Like all technological devices there is going to be some down time...
As Leo says above it is about what is in your area. If no fibre on the BT network which most of us use then maybe Virgin would be a solution. Not recommending them as I know they are expensive but if you need fibre and there isnt any other than Virgin then horse for courses.
Happy also to look...
It is high. Unfortunately if you are in a business contract it is hard to get out of them. Once you are nearing your contract end date then good idea to ask an energy broker if you use loads, or a company like mine if your usage is average. I had a chat with a young girl in Cardiff who is just...
Agree if VOIP use @cjd. If you are going for broadband provider be careful to pick one with unlimited broadband at a reasonable cost and where ever as short a contract as possible :)
If there are any free call apps still available then I would recommend that. I agree with CJD a lot of the companies that provided this service have decided to drop them, but they are still about. Look on your iphone/smartphone store to see what is available. only down side it obviously works...
