It's amazing the number of businesses who have never even heard of TPS/CTPS. There's still a lot of people out there who think it is perfectly acceptable to ring from the yellow pages.
In that case the amount of complaints is ridiculously low given the sheer volume of people signed up to TPS and CTPS. Clearly many people complain about it to each other and in forums but never take it as far as making a formal complaint.
Sure but when you get an unwanted call you have no idea if it is necessarily outside of the UK. You'd expect people still to report it.
It would be interesting to know how many people and businesses are actually signed up to TPS and CTPS.
The numbers of complaints seem pretty low to me though.
Interestingly if you go on to the ICO website and look at actions they do take there are some pretty significant fines being sent out for breaches of data protection but you'd expect that companies that consistently break TPS to the point...
It takes forever to build up a good reputation but you can lose it overnight.
Conduct yourself professionally at all times, regardless of the provocation.
Yes, that's a good strategy. There's nothing better than such and such a person saying "I got my driveway done by these chaps last month. They did an excellent job and I'm really pleased with it. I've got their number around here somewhere".
Just don't be disheartened if out of those 1000 you only get 5 queries! There's not a massive success rate on leafleting.
On the other hand if you compare the cost of 1000 leaflets and the labour to deliver them to the worth of 5 new driveways it will probably keep it in perspective :)
Yeah, it's fine but you're going to need a great deal of people to send this through to. 99% of people who get it through the mail won't even read it before binning it.
I submitted a request for info' on how many firms have been prosecuted for breach of TPS/CTPS a month ago and above is their response.
At first glance TPS and CTPS seems pretty ineffectual. The ICO has only taken formal action against 9 firms in five years and they mention that they do not...
