Hello Scott and many thanks for coming on the public forum to discuss this.
Over the past 4 weeks of trying to deal with the latest incident, I've asked your staff for the list of suppliers j2 Global / Numberstore have porting agreements with five times, but I never got an answer.
I would be...
Yes, we will have to go through a transitional period when the numbers are diverted, etc. but it looks like we will be loosing those numbers in the end, which is most annoying.
Is there anyone else with a Numberstore / j2 porting out experience out there?
(still hoping for some good news!)
Thank you all for your replies.
I didn't know about this new contract clause... no wonder they are ignoring my requests for a list of suppliers they have porting agreements with, there probably aren't any!
When we've originally bought those 3 local numbers from Numberstore (at the time part of...
We are trying to migrate 5 non-geo and local numbers we have with Numberstore.com to a different provider.
Has anyone had any recent successes porting out numbers from Numberstore?
They were acquired by j2 Global last year and migrated old Numberstore accounts to their j2 Global platform...
One thing to bear in mind with the on-line 'in the cloud' accounting packages (such as KashFlow and Clearbooks and others) is that you will pay monthly fees (not true for QuickFile) and your data is kept on-line on their servers (though that also means it is backed up and looked after for you)...
Hi Dilip
Only three thoughts on this one:
1. It does not really matter what anyone here thinks (including me), you could try both options in a spit test with your real website visitors and measure conversion. That way you directly measure which option is better for your site as everything else...

Verip,
Think of it this way - the PRICE of postage you charge your customers does not need to be the same as your COST of posting the item. In fact, it should not be, as you have additional expense of paying for packaging material, the time it takes to pack&post the item and other associated...
'spidersong' and Elaine,
Thank you both so much for your help. I shall study the 'Place of supply' document in detail to prepare myself for a debate with 'professionals' who should know better...
Have a good weekend!

Hi Leanne,
It depends on what exactly you are trying to do with the leaflets and what industry you are in. For example, would your campaign be targeted to your likely prospects? What is your call to action? How do you get people to respond now?
From my experience of leaflets dropped through...
Hi and welcome to the Forum!
The usual answer would be to search Google & British Library for industry statistics and reports, but that is not likely to be very specific to your area...
How about investing a week or two of your time in observing what goes on in your local restaurants...
Hi ,
We are receiving conflicting advice on whether to charge VAT or not so I am hoping that one (or more!) of accounting professionals on the forum might be able to help and shed some more light on this.
Scenario:
UK company A supplies consultancy services to another UK company B

On several projects which attract low call volumes we use www.alldaypa.com. They offer 24/7 service and also have a pay-as-you-go (per minute), no monthly fees plan, which works well when we only get few calls per month and does wonders to filter out the unwanted sales calls.
