Eventually managed to sort out today, paying £105 VAT and a fiver admin. I was asked whether I was VAT registered or not and was advised it wasn't a problem that I wasn't. Units should now be arriving tomorrow/Wednesday :)
Hi,
My first import is being held in customs for duty and taxes. I've been attempting to contact the required person at Stanstead for 2 days without success but thats a different gripe!
Having been reading through FedEx (who are the carrier) I noticed it states that a VAT number is...
For the Footdolls themselves, it will be similar to seasonal selling to supporters of each club to be honest. I expect to sell the majority of units each time I licence a new club. I don't expect to be selling many Hearts branded ones in 5 years time, so will be looking into other products to...
I was going to allow purchase without registering but the same details need to entered regardless and it would become even more complicated had people have 3 options once they try to checkout.
I'm still negotiating with Hearts FC for how many they want to take for the club stores although my...
Kay - I get what you mean with the registration issue. Just like yourself, there will be people that see that and think immediately off that. I've removed the text on the homepage relating to it but have yet to insert my own intro.
Hopefully once this is done, it won't be drawn to viewers.
Cheers
Many thanks for the feedback...
With my current host I get Shared SSL, do you think this is worth while using?
You get home by clicking on the logo - but that isn't obvious so I have added this.
As per SillyJokes comments aswell I was installing that which is now done and looking better...
Thanks for the feedback :)
Thing is, you need to enter the same details whether you register or not. Registering though allows me to gauge certain things and easier to keep the customer up to date on their order.
Agreed on the actual use of any account type text here, which will be removed...
Hi all,
I will be launching my first online venture very shortly and looking for some feedback so far.
Please take a look here and let me know your opinions - good or bad.
Thanks,
Martin
Known issues/still to-do's:
* no text/intro on homepage
* no privacy.php, terms.php or site_map.php...
Hi,
What are the tax rates/band that would be payable on a sole-trader business profit?
I had assumed 22% for upto £40k, but not sure if this is correct?
Thanks,
Martin
Instead of starting a new thread on the same topic, I decided just to bump this thread instead!
This might seem like a very daft question - but is the VAT on all imports set at 17.5%?
No, just a normal office type job.
The employer is a large UK financial organisation, and he has not had to take the holidays like this before. Only after he had booked in 1 week they told him the law has changed, although he was never notified of this or signed any other contract.
A friend of mines has been advised he must take both his weeks entitlement at the same time. He has about 22 over the course of the year and a rota goes round for next summers holiday (which obviously is normally 2 weeks).
He is not going on holiday in the summer but is going away for a few...
I see. Well considering my products are only going to sell for little over £20 that could explain the higher than anticipated percentage.
Can you PM me a guide price on such a draft?
Thanks,
Martin
