I have just read through the thread. Your discussion has been incredibly beneficial to me so thank all of you. I understand that I won’t receive the tracking number until DPD get the goods in the UK (which I estimate to be around 50 days). I will provide an update in a couple of months.
DDP is the delivery type I have chosen.
And they said it will DPD express in my local… so I’m assuming they mean the courier will be DPD over here in the UK.
That’s what I thought. So is it normal practice to have a tracking number even when using DDP method?

I have ordered some product from China. It is coming via sea freight and I have chosen DDP for delivery type.
I have asked the seller for a tracking number but they said “items have been sent and we will send DPD express. Don’t worry”
Is this normal? Do I not...
I decided to go with DPD delivery. I expect the product around July so if I receive the product without any issues then you could maybe say it has been resolved then!

I have checked the Gov website and I can’t seem to find anything pertaining to skewers. Hopefully, as it’s DPD I get what I’ve asked for. The company also have experience selling to the UK market so hopefully that counts for something!

Yes on the trade assurance contract via Alibaba.com it states DDP. It also states this on the proforma invoice they sent. I am paying through Alibaba.com trade assurance so I assume they would want to ensure that I get the delivery so they can receive their money from the beneficiary bank?
