Whilst I'd always agree with anybody about signing NDA's when entering into talks about your business, I would never rely totally on an NDA to protect you - it's so difficult to prove so you'll need your wits about you.
Great idea about patents etc if it is of the nature which can be patented...
Tough one but IMHO if you have unhappy business partners from the start then something is bound to go wrong.
I have various shareholders in my business although I owned the business outright before attracting investment. The way I look at it is this:
The shares bought / owned within the...
You make a good point here, there are articles out there having a go at landlords for not moving with the times and going for monthly rent instead of quarterly. I think that the most famous one was Woolworths, they blamed part of their going bump on their inability to renegotiate their quarterly...
please tell me if I'm being harsh but you're having problems in paying your second quarter's rent as a new business?
I would first try and seek good business advice to see if your business plan is even viable and then take it from there.
Do not take offence but to go and spend £8k in 3 months...

The question raised by Christine Hough is a difficult one and I think that the post made by captaincloser is one of the most important points out of all the guff that I've read.

If you quoted for the work, did the job with no complaints then you are entitled to your money. It's only when 'hidden' costs are applied later that people usually have problems and if you didn't quote it and didn't ask permission to carry out any extra work then the person might have issues...
Fully appreciate that you want to 'make money' but it's not all about the money, a true business leader or whatever you want to call it must want to provide a good service / price.
For me, talk of, 'is there lots of money in it' without real care for the customer will not make much in the long...
With regards to PPC, it all depends on what you're selling as to whether it's worth it or not, especially if you're a new entrant to a saturated market and your site is new. Ultimately though, it's about your budget!
I can't remember the link now but if I find it I'll post it but there is a...
So are you aiming at student coders? Cos that's what you will get...
Depends on your target audience as to what you need, a 'student' could be all different types of people.
It's like saying - I need a 30 year old for my niche business...
Wish you all the best but broaden your horizon(s).
I spoke to a really helpful lady at the FSA the other day as our business needs to become regulated - or at least be able to sell a particular insurance product.
Cost for regulation is £1500 and you must have somebody on (the) board with experience (or at the very least qualifications). You...
One thing that many people make a mistake with is thinking that customers magically appear when you have more items for sale or more space.
It doesn't work this way so to grow soo quickly may work out great but for a moment, forget about the dilema of selling your house and think about how many...
Guys - how about thinking of the web and business name seperately.
You can register loads of relevant domains and point them to the main one.
Sooooo....
