Oh no sorry! I get it we don't have to pay VAT on what you sell if we're not registered. My bad!

    I don't understand VAT :(

Thanks guys, So if I understand correctly even the distributors or retailers buying our products from us will not be able to claim VAT, unless we're registered? In other words we would be 20% more expensive than a competitor that is registered with VAT?

    I don't understand VAT :(

Hi guys, I'm sure I should but I don't understand how VAT works for a company. We are very small beverage business that is not registered with VAT and we plan to buy many different things from suppliers (bottles, water, flavors, bottling service). They give us a price without VAT. Do we have...

    Business and Ethics

I think "what is ethical and what isn't" comes after the question put forward above i.e. "does the context encourage ethical or unethical behaviour?" If people are trying and thinking how to be ethical in their everyday actions that's already start. If we take the example of the SEO company, I...

    Business and Ethics

I'm not sure if i'll answer your question but I had a great CSR teacher recently who worked with Henry Mintzberg and gave me a completely different perspective on the issue of unethical business. He tried to move away from the idea of personality being responsible for immoral business and to...

How to encite interactions on a website?

@In the cloud, Thanks a lot for your help. It's great to have this kind of feedback. I like the idea of getting new members to vote from the moment they got on the website. I think it could be called "on boarding" which guides the user through a few steps as he start them of. However, we are a...

How to encite interactions on a website?

We've just launched a beverage company that aims to be fully managed by an online community i.e. they make all the decisions a CEO would normally make. We've have a lot of positive feedback but it seems difficult to get people to interact on the platform. We even receive many emails with...

How important are values to your business?

I must say I was not aware of the history of Asda and I will read up more on the way they choose staff. However, speaking of owners Asda now bellonging to Walmart will must probably not have the same set of values, especially considering all the ethical issues Walmart has been facing. Just like...

How important are values to your business?

Agreed! but I must say I feel this is only for small business where there is a clear leader and his values are what makes the work meaningful; for him/her and for employees. But as soon as you look at larger corporations its a completely different story. People don't even realise how harmful...

How important are values to your business?

I don't really agree that values are "already there" within a person. I feel they evolve and are a result of what we see and learn. Maybe the principles & beliefs are more adapted terms. However, I still feel that it is interesting for us to understand what dynamics influence the ethical...

How important are values to your business?

I think the question we should ask ourselves is not "should the company stick to its values" but more "what values should a company have and how should they be determined?" The guy at the head of a large corporations often thinks he's doing loads for society just because he's creating a strong...
