    Do i really need to be VAT registered.

    I'm thinking of buying merchandising from China and selling direct to the public in the UK through an online shop and trade shows. If i stay below the VAT threshold can i trade without being VAT registered? If i had to register, how long does the process take? Thanks

    I've seen this technique used alot to attract customers on ebay. In my case the advertiser is selling a low quality product and will use the name of a high quality competitor in the description to entice the buyer. I'd also be interested to know if this kind of deception is legal!

    Brian i am in a small town on the outskirts of Bologna. I'm 15 mins from the Ducati factory and 10 mins from the Lambourghini factory :) It's motorcycle heaven here as we have the Futa Pass which runs from Bologna through the mountains into Tuscany.
