Thanks for your replies. Sadly, it was not through an agent or buying group, we purchase from our suppliers direct. The invoice was paid by bank transfer so we don't have any protection in that respect.
The supplier parent company is in Italy, but then the goods and invoice was from the...
Hiya
Our regular overseas supplier has supplied us with a batch of faulty goods. We paid upfront for the goods as that is the term of our relationship with them, and this is not normally an issue.
We have sent photos of the fault and requested a credit on account, but the supplier is refusing...
I am skeptical, but I am always open minded to be proven wrong (though I serious hope ghosts can't work the internet as I don't really want one to pop by to prove they exist).

Thank you. That would have been my suggestion, but I am not convinced I will be able to convince Management of this. If we decided to pay half a day and then the afternoon is unpaid leave, is there anything legally wrong with this?
My other thoughts are - if the company always pays a full day...
Nothing about part days. The standard clause of days 1-3 inclusive are unpaid, day 4 is paid at SSP. But as law says part days do not count as a sick day this doesn't help me.
