I'd be sticking to sole trader as long as I could. I had to register a LTD company to get on the app store (otherwise your apps go under your personal name and address) and it's nothing but a headache. You have legal responsibilities as a director; you have to file annual confirmation...
Oh I have an ad campaign that's working and some app store optimisation that's beginning to take effect too! I was hoping to build up some word of mouth via the press to compliment the other efforts (naively, granted!)
Ah thanks, and the AI point is one I hadn't considered but probably should have - seeing as how hard it is getting an app through the review teams at the moment. Supposedly there's a huge influx of low effort AI rubbish clogging up the pipeline, and I've heard similar for the publishing industry...
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I've launched an app and went ahead and booked one of those 'write and distribute' services with one of the big UK press release websites. The app deals with topical elements of society and has a few unique features that other apps in the same field don't but...
My apologies for going silent - I've been away a couple of days. Thank you all indeed, there's some cracking feedback here and I'll go through and get it implemented ASAP!
Thanks Fagin - very useful feedback. First on the agenda will be switching out that graphic. I hadn't considered that it actually reflects poorly on the site itself rather than illustrating the problem. Looking on mobile I see what you mean - takes up a huge portion of the screen and looks like...
I used to be on the front page of Fiverr as a copywriter. How many orders a week are you getting at the moment? It all comes down to pleasing the algorithm. The more happy customers you've got, and the more money you're making Fiverr, the more likely you are to be shown first. The newer...
Hi all,
I've launched a new little SaaS business: uptimeANT. I know for a fact there's more I could be doing on the home page to drive conversions. I'm also sure the design is probably a bit too busy in parts.
As well as design criticisms, I'd be keen to know how you feel about the service...
Before we start, I cannot state enough that I'm asking this purely out of curiosity and I'm not looking for any excuse to get a 'free' holiday. I used an example of a fashion brand below because it's a million miles from what I do, and indeed I don't plan to try anything like is.
I was reading...
This one hits home for me. I used to offer services on a certain website where me and the other freelancers all charged in fiver (cough cough) increments. It was only ever meant to be a side income though it paid better than my day job on some months. People expected a lot for that fiver though...
Hi Frank,
to be frank - no pun intended  - I think the site is coming across as quite dated and 'busy'. The colours are a bit too intense for me and the shapes are distracting. A minimal design with more white space would probably do you some favours. An example would be how the logo...
