I think it's a great idea, it provide a 'dip your toe in the water' situation for new businesses or for people nervous about making the commitment of a lease agreement. Also - I know a good place where they can buy roller banners ;)
One thing with exhibitions - you're dealing with real people and not bots. I think more people are seeing that with paid traffic these days you're paying for a higher percentage of click bots than ever before
I looked at doing this but I was told it was not a good idea as you could block things like google indexing, uk proxy users and chat ai that could be people asking about us
How can someone 'force' you to go? Do they send a riot van and overpower you into it? You need to be more assertive like I said previously, you take control of your life.
Anyway, whatever you do, enjoy the break and don't overthink stuff, the others won't be wasting as much energy on it.
What is so bad about these events? If you suffer from social anxiety or something, it would be better to get help with the problem rather than avoid it.
If you really don't want to be invited to anything - just tell them you wouldn't be seen dead with them out of work and they all stink, that should do the trick nicely :)
That really comes down to you, it sounds to me that you need to be more assertive and not be controlled by others, the fact that others want you to go is a compliment.
Nobody can or should be forced or pressured, on the other hand you can understand if the boss is treating staff and it is declined it could be wrongly interpreted as ungrateful.
Best be totally honest and say 'thank you for inviting me, its very generous and kind, however I'm really not a party...
I guess most people here are just like me in terms of never switching off. We're in business because its what we do and we love it.
Officially we close on Monday 22nd and re-open on Monday 5th which seems to be what a lot of people I speak to are doing.
What are you guys doing?
Whatever...
Some say the idea is to create a flow, generally people will want to explore the whole event so you don't need to overthink it. If you're cramming in as much as possible then maybe the isles is best, I'd prefer around the edges and back to back islands dotted around.
