I really think you should be looking t an alternative career.
That said technically you could probably set up on your own. With the lack of protection for the term 'accountant' you could easily set up and people would never know. Coukd you morally do that though if you are looking to be...
I use Absolute, it is designed for Accountants. If you pay £1k for the software for one client it would be a waste. You could pay an accountant less than half that if you do most of the work yourself and they could file stat accounts. Have you actually been to get quotes from an accountant?
You'll be please to know she did phone and we had a good chat. Despite my daughter falling off a step in the background - how unprofessional, but hey, I'm a real person and thats how I roll!
Hi Lisa,
I gather Geoff has passed my contact details on - feel free to check out my website which has a handy, but basic, calculator to check how much tax you might save.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Nicola is spot on with she is saying about charges. It is quite feasible that a business making profits of £40k could have the same or even a cheaper fee than 1 making £8k. Reasons include the bookeeping used, business structure, turnover, industry type etc.
You may want to consider KashFlow. It is an online package which can be purchased relatively cheaply. For example I offer it to my clients at £9.99 per month.
Yes there is plenty of software that can bought to do this. Accountants pay quite a lot of money for theirs!!!
Seriously though, you should really consider getting an accountant in. It is the easiest way to avoid penalties/ fines
This sounds very dodgy to me. It is quite a clear case of employers taking advantage of weaker minded individuals and you are right to stick up for your nephew.
Having read through the whole thread I would definitely recommend you put the EFT claim and press release out there!
4N is massively beneficial to my business. Passporting around different groups, getting to Meet, Like, Know and Trust others has not only won me business but got me some great suppliers and contacts.
It does take some time and effort, and yes competititors come along. But competitors can also...
Thanks guys just for confirming what I have thought.
I have asked what documentation they mean and the legal elements to which they are referring and they actually won't give an answer other than 'you need them to be legally trading'. Very generic and obviously don't know their stuff.
James, I...
Agreed Michelle, a job is a job so if this is the only one on offer then take it!
**Note, please don't ring PAH Accounting expecting a sale to Yell.com!!!
Fair enough cheapaschips.
Its as much a personal rant on my part with Xmas coming up and a father who won't contribute to the cost of a school uniform for his son. A couple of pairs of trousers from Asda at £3-4 each would have been something!
So effectively you want to dodge your legal responsibility.
I know the feeling from the opposite end. I have a stepson and the father avoids working and does cash in hand jobs to avoid paying any CSA money. My wife and I have to pay for everything, childcare, school uniform, food and clothing...
