Sorry for the lack of replies to all of your comments everyone! I thought this tread had died!
Thank you for all of your tips. I am taking these on board and actually started a new blog not affiliated with my job, but actually about video games! Without any advertising I have had nearly 1000...
Ah ok. Obviously in this instance you would have to buy data in (additional costs), which generally isn't a good idea unless you are 100% certain it is opted in and no one else is buying the same data. Obviously if you have already generated/collected the data yourself then it is fine, although...
From my experience, no one decent will run a campaign for £10. You normally have about a £500 minimum order value, which to an agency will get more data than a smaller business would direct. A business would get about 50k-75k emails.
Also, if your target market is large then it would be worth...
Hey,
That's fair enough! I would say that it is a pretty large industry in the UK. I can't think of a single company that we work with that can not target people geographically!
Anyway, this thread isn't really the place to discuss this as the thread is supposed to be about comparing postal...
Hi James,
You seem to suggest that this is something that you have just stumbled across, but your username sounds more like it is something you actually do all the time.
Also, geo-targeting is a pretty standard thing in the industry already... It isn't like it is revolutionary! It isn't...
If your content is good enough then try and get linked up with some related blogs/websites. A good reputable site will help to boost your SEO as well as driving traffic directly to your site.
The problem with this is that most communities where you can post marketing blogs and things like that are all paid for privileges from what I have seen!
I started off my own personal blog last night (About 12 hours ago now) and it already has more views, so it is obviously just a tougher...
I think if you need to report this you can go to the ASA (Advertising Standards Agency).
They have a list of people who do not comply, which is quite small at the moment, as in most cases things are resolved.
If anyone does this then let me know how you get on! :)
You can get guaranteed rates added into your contract with most companies that do the broadcasting for you. 0.3% is the industry standard so if they can not guarantee this then just don't run with them. ;)
If it is a B2C email and you haven't opted-in to receive emails from that email list...
What kind of data are you getting then? Phone/Postal? Would you mind letting me know what you are looking at paying for what volume with them? I might be able to find you a better deal. :)
Looking at Selectabase, I think you need to be careful. I'm not saying they are dodgy or anything, as I am...
Hi Ryan,
What site are generating your sign-ups on?
I can help out with advice on generating sign-ups/leads and also any design aspects.
Any more info you have will be useful for us to help you! :)
I wouldn't go too cheap though!
Keep in mind that Thomson do not release their email data. They will just broadcast to it for you. It is quite well managed. There is a guy called Chris Green there who is quite helpful.
If you are looking to run an email campaign then I might be able to help...
Thanks for all the tips! Planning my second blog post now so hopefully this will blossom into something great!
In regards to PPC, I am not really looking for paid options right now as it may not be something that is continued on blogspot as our site is being updated. We will transfer everything...
I just shout really loudly in public places. ;)
Just kidding...
I work for an advertising company so we manage all sorts of these campaigns for other people. Mostly online stuff at the moment for our clients so that is:
1. Email Marketing
2. Co-Registration
3. Display advertising...
I keep trying to reply properly but it keeps saying "Sorry, you are only allowed to post live URLs to other sites after you have made 30 posts or more." I'm not trying to link to anything...

Thanks for the advice.
It is targeted towards businesses that may not know how to properly run an...
