With regards to feedback I understand most of the posts being skeptical people don't like change and the norm for ordering take-away is tried and tested.

I was once told by sony that the uses of their products are not permitted in a commercial setting, this was about 4 years ago.
But now I see a few gaming cafes popping up in London offering play with PC games, ps3 and xbox in their premises. I think they charge by the hour.

I think these business directories could be alot more than they are at present.
Because there's so many, few stand out from the crowd. Touchlocal is said to be at the forefront and Helphound coimg second but I have never used it myself nor have I heard it ever mentioned. I see their ad's on...
But i meant that its an institutional thing. Many businesses assume they must be in a hard copy version of the yellow pages. So they just update their entry every year, simply because its the yellow pages.

My business is also a directory Naweed. I have no intention of being in Yellow pages! I just reckon for the fees they charge and the presence they have they could offer alot more, even basics like reviews. With the technology today I would expect to see a bit more than name and phone number for...
I meant that people seem to keep themselves updated and renew their subscription to yell.com because it is a household name a place where people go straight to the site for business search rather than google. I agree that yellow pages doesnt give as much as it should or perhaps has the potential to.
I would perhaps agree and with the point made about these sorts of sites need updated content. But I think if you are a business listing on a directory you should be equallly responsible for keeping updated. But with so many, obviously its time consuming and therefore information become stagnant...
After viewing the thread about the effectiveness of touch local it has caused me to perhaps think twice about how my directory should market itself.
I have seen that some of you have paid about 10 x what I would charge for an equivalent 'enhanced' listing:eek: and many wouldnt pay for a local...
