Online selling - your own website or better to use Shopify, Wix or similar ?

Shopify is the most hands-off platform for business owners. Free themes perform well. They convert because they are backed by masses of research and optimisation across hundreds of thousands of merchant experiences. @Byzantium - Shopify also plays really nice with Google Merchant Centre (send...

    Shopblocks B2B e-commerce

    Seeking e-commerce platform recommendations

You could easily build a custom Stripe checkout into which you can pass order total and key metadata to help you link it to the order form. You could also utilise GoCardless for the UK segment of your customers - very cheap going this route, but defo something you'd need to speak with your...

Online selling - your own website or better to use Shopify, Wix or similar ?

Hey @Byzantium - this thread has been a fascinating read. It seems like your primary need is for agility and the power to make changes yourself, quickly, to your website as one of the primary assets in your business. One of the primary arguments made in this thread by those from the technical...

    Shopblocks B2B e-commerce

Hey @japancool - what is your usecase? Are you selling B2B only? Do you have plans to expand into direct to consumer too? What else is in your tech stack? It's important to consider how nicely your store platforms are going to play with everything else in your business, e.g. accounts, warehouse...

    Seeking e-commerce platform recommendations

Hi Paul, interested to hear how the Shopify API is restricted? I'm talking about automation friendliness. If a business owner does not want to be on the hook to an external agency and wants to build "If this, then that" workflows - I have not seen any other platform offer more options than...

    Seeking e-commerce platform recommendations

For the first two requirements, most platforms are going to be mostly equal… template libraries and CSV imports are the norm across the board. For the third - automation - you’re unlikely to find a non enterprise solution that does this off the shelf, so your objective must be to identify the...

Migrate From Magento To Shopify...Easy Or Not?

Valid point about some of their business practices around trademark and regulations.... But one thing to consider with this category of product is that reviews will always skew negative, since there's no defined workflow in the course of using their products where users are invited to rate it...

Migrate From Magento To Shopify...Easy Or Not?

There's a lot of emphasis in this thread about the customisation limits of Shopify, which is definitely an important issue - but you've got to weigh that against the other side of the coint, which is that it works off the shelf better than almost any other option, is very hard to break and is...

Are companies starting to move away from Wordpress or is it still the go-to CMS?

Webflow is a phenomenal CMS platform. I cannot imagine I will ever own a Wordpress site again. In my digital marketing days I built Wordpress sites, but the maintenance aspect was a total pain. Webflow works, is rapid (sub 1s page load times) and is booming. It has a great community as well.
