How important is it to have a landline number for a small business these days?

I used to do the BT divert thing. I switched over to a company called Tamar Telecom. They ported our landline number onto their system and now charge me £5.99 inc VAT per month. I can receive calls to my landline on my mobile but I have to call out on my mobile.

Need advice on how to expand my business

Not really that I can think of now. The trouble with books is they can go out of date so quickly. Have a search on Amazon. Read the reviews. Should I start a bookkeeping company?

My advice, keep getting experience in SMEs. You are perfectly placed to see how businesses run. Find a business model that works and that you enjoy being part of, then copy it, or do it better, or find some niche aspect that could stand alone as it's own business.

Should I start a bookkeeping company?

Are you intending to build a business with employees doing the work, with you overseeing, or to do the work yourself? Is this going to be your main full time job? If yourself then I would have thought your value as CIMA qualified would be better than any hourly rate bookkeeping. And you will...
