Hardware and Software for Hybrid Meetings

Thanks for the replies. We've got Teams and Zoom so no problem there, I'm trying to picture how the hardware would look. We can get a laptop and projector set up with a big screen, but we wouldn't have a laptop in front of every trustee. I can see one webcam covering us all would be ok, but...

Looking for recommendations for a review of employee contracts & handbook

They were last reviewed 6-7 years ago we could do with ensuring we are up to date with any legislation changes and best practice. We've had a quote from a firm of solicitors but it seems high. Any recommendations?

Company with bad credit rating asking for deposit

We've had a quote for some work to convert a room for around 8k. The company have asked for a 50% deposit with a lead time of 5 weeks. They have decent testimonials on their website. We checked them out on Experian, they were incorporated 10 years ago but their credit rating is currently...

Change of use permission needed from office to nursery?

It was previously used for training members of the public in English as a second language, IT, literacy skills etc. - would this be classed as open to the public? Prior to that it was used as admin offices for a charity. I doubt any official consent was applied for if that constituted a change...

    ISO 9001

We started this a few years ago. I think we paid just over 2k for the initial set up then 1k for the annual audits. We had to do it as a charity, it was a real pain in a lot of areas but it did force us to make sure policies were reviewed/updated regularly.

Change of use permission needed from office to nursery?

We have a small (1,400ft) self contained office with parking we lease out. The tenant is vacating but there is a nursery close by who are interested in taking it on. Would we need change of use permission for this? We don't know what formal permission the office currently has, it was built many...

    Facebook WiFi

Fb say it allows more people to find our business, gives secure access without sharing passwords, gets insights on visitors. I'm not clear if you would need a facebook account in order to access WiFi but I would assume so. Anyone have experience of implementing or using this?

Ex-employee entitlement to see a reference from previous employer

She was dismissed for gross misconduct after less than 2 years. I don't know why she wants to see the reference, best guess is that she wants it for future jobs. We've never been asked to disclose a reference before.

Ex-employee entitlement to see a reference from previous employer

She has asked to see the references from her previous employment. I was advised that we should tell her to ask for them from the previous employer, but don't we have to disclose these under GDPR?

Auditor charged extra for going concern work

It's due to the company being a charity exceeding the turnover limit.

Auditor charged extra for going concern work

No doubt there's something in the contract allowing them to do this, but I'm interested if extra charges for going concern work are a common occurrence. Many of our suppliers and partners have been very helpful (we're in the hospitality sector).

Auditor charged extra for going concern work

We've had an invoice from our auditors for the final part of the annual audit fee. They've added on an extra 1k citing additional costs in relation to the audit of going concern due to Covid. Notwithstanding that they never discussed or notified us of this previously, have other auditors been...
