    Go to a few trade shows, get involved and make contacts. You can't just build a business having spare money and spare time. You need the acumen to get yourself out there, research, predict what upcoming trends are etc.

    I just assumed anything you sold at a trade fair would have to be designed by yourself. What if someone else has the same stuff? They are just leggings in a patterned fabric, no embellishments or buttons etc but I'll get in contact with trading standards to see what road I should go down...

    Yep I did, after excitedly gabbing away too much of my business idea, someone thanked me for giving him the idea. Asked to get it removed and was told no. Then the item moq increased about a hundredth fold. Yippee. Have learned my lesson not to blab now though!
