That quote is from our Facebook account manager - not me.
Of the 3 options (PPC 'social' ads, CPM Homepage ads and CPM banners) for a budget of £25 a day stick with CPC if you're testing F'Book. If you can't afford to spend £25 'testing; with no expectation of a return stick with Google - it...
Hi - good debate here so i thought I'd drag my soap-box out...
For any SME Facebook is worth serious consideration - especially if your getting killed on Google (increasing CPC's and decreasing ROI's). But my feeling is only consider Facebook if you're completely max'd-out on Google.

We have noticed the same effect. IMHO UK customers generally tend to shun Pay Pal (unless they're ebay users). Integrating the payment process within the website is more 'logical' for a customer - handing-off to Pay Pal dislocates the customer shopping experience - and as we all know if you...
We ran our own books and VAT for a year as the business launched. As we grew, we dropped the ball on organising paperwork and one day had a knock on the door from the dreaded 'VAT Man' - HMRC. They basically walked in and spent a day driving us frantic trying to justify sales, costs -...
Thanks for the tip (re Avast). I'm getting fed-up with the Comodo product as i find it confusing and it doesn't seem to remember my usage preferences so it delivers loads of pop-up warnings!
AVG and Avira are good - we also use Comodo which is free but occasionally pops ads up after an update.
Another good option is Zone Alarm's free version.
Hi - we use the same package - BT's business connect or something like that. The connection speeds are pretty lousy but it has been reliable (touching wood...). Did you say they offered you a Blackberry?
We have also been offered a VoIP option but not used it - might try it later now you've...
Hi everyone,
I am looking at ways of developing new product lines to sell on our website.
Currently we have a strong seasonal bias wnter vs summer - when sales are strong. The site sells childrens skiwear and in summer we switch to wetsuits and uv sun protection clothing. Don't think I'm allowed...
Try t get in touch with your local Expat forums & websites - I 've worked with a number of these and they are usually very co-operative (no pun intended).
If you Google 'expat spain' you're bound to get the major sites. I'd personally start with justlanded dot com
Cheers!
Most of the e-tailers are reporting strong sales over the holiday period - but as others have said it depends on your products. Seasonal influences are the main drivers of our sales - winter is all about skiwear, summer it's wetsuits and sun protection clothing! (Someone called this the 'feast &...
Hi - Mailchimp gets 5 stars from me. I use this in my 'day job' - it has impressive features, nice to use and cheap as chips. For your html needs i wou;d suggest hiring a freelance html designer who has experience with email campaigns & not just web design.
I'd advise talking to your accountants first - ours has a preference for SAGE - and I'd just bought Quickbooks...duh!
If your planning on managing the accounts yourself try a couple of demos to get the feel of them (Sage & Quickbooks are pretty popular packages.)
Good luck!
...your market potential and competition. If you can prove the demand is there and not being properly serviced (in our case high street retailers have problems carrying high price brands (skiwear esp) and many other online players were not exploiting the seo and search market. Today we're...
