Hi everyone,
One of my sites generates its own sitemap.xml using closed code from a vendor, and it is including 30,000 pages that I don't want indexed. They all start with a common URI (ie. www.site.com/folder/xxxxxx)
How do I get Google to ignore parts of my sitemap? I thought of...
I tried the two builder finder websites mentioned and although they look very slick the process is a bit cumbersome and it relies on you knowing exactly what you want. I can't even figure out what category the work falls into.
I must be a bit old-fashioned because I just want someone to come...
Hi all,
My inlaws want to make some renovations to their house in North Manchester. Knocking down walls, making an arch between rooms, building conservatory, that sort of thing.
I'm not from that area so I don't know any contractors. Can you recommend someone who can come and give a quote...
I want to change some of the page titles and meta descriptions of my sites to help SEO and CTR but I'm scared that I will make things worse.
If the sites' rankings respond badly to the changes can I put the old ones back up and then keep testing new content, or does Google penalise repeated...
Hey yall
Some sites have the date at the beginning of their description in Google's organic listings. Most of these seem to be blogs on platforms like WP but some aren't, and I've been wondering about the following:

2...
Genius, and it looks like it has been working really well. Has it just been your customers who have placing links or any tom dick and harry? You say in the blog post that you've submitted it to some competition sites - how's that working out?
This argument about SEO consultant rankings reminds me of the dental conundrum: There are two dentists in your town; one has perfect teeth and one has rotten teeth. Q: Which dentist do you visit? A: The one with rotten teeth because he's been looking after the other guy... :D
Hi guys,
I have a site with .com and .co.uk version of the same domain name, with exactly the same content on each. Is Google likely to think this is duplicate content and mark down our rankings, or does this scenario not matter?
TIA

I used Vertical Response last week and I was quite impressed. I sent 2,500 messages without a hitch and the stats seem pretty good. I seem to remember filling out a form explaining how the data is collected, and then after a while (I guess while they reviewed it) the emails went out.
I've been using Clicky for a few months and it seems really good. Years ago I used to swear by OpenTracker but it's not so open any more - it used to be free but now it costs and I can't justify the price difference over Clicky. For managing multiple sites it is prohibitively expensive. But...
Ouch! True, knowledge must come before speech, but I know how hard it can be to make a commission-only position work. Not every potential candidate will believe your commission forecasts, and you have to be prepared for them to leg it as soon a) the going gets tough or b) they find a paid job...
